John Cooper is New President for Rotary Club Malta

The 1st July always marks the start of the new Rotary Year and, as occurs in Rotary Clubs all over the world, Rotary Club Malta inaugurated a new President to lead the club.  John Cooper, a long-standing Rotarian took over the helm at the Presidents' Hand-Over Dinner held on the 30th June 2015. 
 
 
John Cooper has taken over from Dr Alfred Caruana Galizia as the President of Rotary Club Malta in a ceremony held during the Presidents' Hand-Over Dinner on the 30th June at The Palace Hotel in Sliema.
 
Outgoing President Alfred went through the achievements of the Club throughout the year noting significant service and social activities held throughout the year.  The highlights of the year included the commencement and conclusion of the construction work and the commencement of the finishing works for the extension project at the Dar il-Kaptan Respite Home as well as the commencement of building works at the Kids of Africa School in an island in Lake Victoria in Uganda being built by Rotary Club Malta.   
 
President John Cooper then gave a brief outline of the objectives he has set for the year ahead.  The first official function that John undertook in his role as the President of Rotary Club Malta was the induction of a new member, Capt. Philip Apap Bologna.
