The Rotary Clubs of the Maltese Islands have jointly issued a call for applications to residents of Malta for a Rotary Scholarship worth $30,000 for international, post-graduate studies during the academic year 2018-2019.  This scholarship is one of the most generous scholarships available in Malta. Closing Date: 10 September 2017.
Rotary Club Malta, Rotary Club La Valette and Rotary Club Gozo announce a call for applications for residents of Malta for a ROTARY SCHOLARSHIP for post-graduate studies in the academic year 2018-2019 sponsored through the Global Grants programme of the Rotary Foundation.

The purpose of the Rotary Scholarships programme is to enable candidates to further their post graduate studies internationally in areas of study which must be aligned with the Rotary Foundation's Areas of Focus, namely:

Rotary Areas of Focus

The programme sponsors international, post-graduate, academic qualifying studies in these areas of focus and is valued at US$30,000. Once selected for the scholarship the candidate must show proof of selection to the chosen university before the grant will be finally approved. This scholarship is only available for residents of Malta & Gozo.

The Rotary Foundation encourages scholars to participate in Rotary club events or service projects in the location of their studies.

TERM OF THE SCHOLARSHIP:    Scholarships can be for between one and four years of regular academic graduate full-time study.   The scholarship may be used only for studies which are aligned with the Rotary Foundation's areas of focus
but not for unsupervised research, internship or residency, or for full-time employment.  Applicants must have already completed a first degree when the scholarship begins.

WHAT DOES THE SCHOLARSHIP COVER?   The scholarship provides a grant of US$30,000.  Funding is intended to defray costs associated with the normal University course fees,  round-trip transportation, room and board, and educational supplies.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES AND DEADLINES:   Applicants are required to apply on the Rotary Scholarship application form and send it addressed to the Rotary Clubs of Malta & Gozo via e-mail to scholarships@rotary.org.mt together with their Curriculum Vita by not later than 10 September 2017.  All applications will be acknowledged following receipt.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES:
Following receipt of applications, a committee representing the three Rotary Clubs in Malta & Gozo will evaluate applications and short-listed candidates will be requested to attend an interview.  Selection of a preferred candidate from the Maltese Islands will be made together with a runner-up.  The Malta area endorsed preferred candidate will then compete together with candidates from Sicily for selection by the Rotary District 2110 Sicily & Malta Committee.

District-endorsed applications will then need to submit an on-line application to the Rotary Foundation. Applicants must provide evidence of acceptance from the university of their choice before the scholarship is awarded.
