John de Giorgio, a Past President of Rotary Club Malta (2009/10), and a Past Governor of our District 2110, Sicily and Malta, has been appointed to the role of Aide to the Rotary International President 2025/26, Francesco Arezzo. 
 

 
 
John de Giorgio, a Past President of Rotary Club Malta (2009/10), has been appointed to the role of Aide to the Rotary International President 2025/26, Francesco Arezzo. His partner, Monique Chambers, is the Aide to the President’s spouse, Anna Criscione-Arezzo. 
 
The Aide carries significant responsibility because they are the closest support to the world President in all aspects of their year of service. The Aide to the RI President provides personal, logistical, and protocol support to the President throughout their year of service and ensures that the President’s schedule, engagements, and communications are carried out smoothly. They represent Rotary International with dignity, efficiency, and sensitivity to global cultural contexts. 
 
The Aide acts as the President’s closest assistant, ensuring they are properly briefed, rested, and prepared for engagements and they coordinate travel. The Aide may also represent the President when they are unable to attend meetings or engage in informal discussions.
 
President Arezzo and Aide John de Giorgio have worked together closely since the year that Arezzo was the Governor of District 2110 and de Giorgio was President of Rotary Club Malta in 2009/10. When Arezzo was the Convener of the Rotary Institute in Catania in 2019, de Giorgio was its Chair, and equally they worked together in similar roles for the Presidential Conference held in Venice in 2022.
 
John de Giorgio, a Rotarian since 2000, was the Governor of District 2110, Sicily and Malta in 2017/18, a Training Leader in 20222-2024, and later joined Rotary International’s Leadership Development and Training Committee, where he served from 2020 to 2022, concluding his tenure as Chair of the committee. He was also a member of the Singapore Convention committee in 2024/25. John and Monique are Major Donors Level 2 to the Rotary Foundation.
